I'm Zara Oxtoby, a freelance fashion designer integrating function with beauty. I design with purpose. I love to delve into details, to analyse trends and explore conceptual ideas, to push my imagination to create relevant and engaging designs.

With 15 years of fashion design experience and over 10 years specialised in lingerie and swimwear my design process has evolved to balance the vast technical knowledge I have gained with intuition and creativity. 

My work fuses an artistic approach with a commercial mind. The research phase is the base of a strong and pertinent collection where I identify challenges and determine opportunities through thorough market research, consumer insights and analysing the latest trends. I blend this with intuitive inspiration to create concepts with a narrative and designs uniquely tailored to a brand's needs and desires.

I value artisanal skills and prioritise solid supplier partnerships, collaboratively developing new fabrics, testing ideas and ensuring innovation. Collaboration is key. My technical expertise of garment construction, fit and fabric has deepened over the past years which guarantees multifaceted designs and holistic collections while I remain eager to build on these skills, to stay open-minded and socially aware whilst adapting to novel ways of working.
